Look into Wake on Pattern Match, I was having the same problem turning it off worked wonders. Let me try again! I wanted to use the PC to wake me up to music and schedule it to wake up for other tasks. It has been since last October that I posted my problem. I have tried everything suggested and nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Amazing write-up! The proper command is powercfg -lastwake as I just ran it. Did you install any third party software along with the Windows Updates? This solved my problem, at last! I did not see anything in the task scheduler. I have a third party alert software that worked fine until a few months ago. I would like to set a sleep mode so that the computer and display monitor both go to sleep after 1 hour of inactivity. I did in fact set the settings this way, and the PC and display go to sleep. However, after I wake it up by moving the mouse, I find that any program or application that I attempt to open at that point just hangs and does nothing the cursor goes into hourglass mode forever and the program or application does not start.
Even with programs or applications that were already open at the time of sleep, they also do the same thing if I go back into them after the PC is woken up. I am ultimately forced to hard power down the PC and power it back up, which defeats the whole purpose of putting it to sleep in the first place.
Does anyone know a way to fix this problem? Here under the driver tab you will find the drivers listed. I would also suggest you to perform BIOS update by contacting the computer manufacturer, check if it helps. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help.
