And that's exactly what we were thinking when Palit's latest Radeon HD turned up on our doorstep; at least, until we opened the box and started looking a little closer.
Like these cards, the Palit Radeon HD Sonic is retrofitted with a custom cooler and sports a fairly decent factory overclock on the core. However, unlike the two cards we've just mentioned, Palit has been pretty conservative on the memory overclock — we've got an increase from 1,MHz to just 2,MHz effective.

I look forward to a passively cooled card. For more heat and less performance??? Actually, the RV uses less power and runs cooler than G92 even the GT, with active shaders G92 is faster in a single card configuration, though crossfire scales better than SLI in most cases. We are in the process of finding out its exact clock speeds, price and a larger picture.
Why would anyone buy this instead of a ?? So they could OC it to HD specs, at a [supposed] lesser price. This card looks more of an underclocked HD with the same Sonic cooler and some fancy connectors. Might be a lot cheaper. And quieter.
