Software winest

Behind the covers of the Excel-like interface is a powerful database, flexibly presented with multiple work-breakdown structures WBS and filters.

WinEst estimates can be standardized for multiple project types so that your team always delivers polished, professional estimates that reflect your corporate brand.

The estimate templates are not just skin deep — it extends to the item and assembly level, as well as to labor and equipment rates, including base rates and benefit rates.

This protection is far better than relying on five-year-old spreadsheets riddled with assumptions and broken links.

Now you can standardize estimating best practices for all your project types and self-perform work. Have you ever encountered a costly error on a project? Are your team members spending more time than necessary on estimates? Easy enough to get someone on the phone, but they will literally refuse to speak to you about any issues or problems unless you buy the support plan.

The support plan is also overpriced. I am OK with software developers charging a fee to teach someone how to use the software, or to assist with integrating their program into your existing system. However, I am not OK with them charging a fee to fix issues within their software that you have already purchased.

I feel like that should be included in the price of the program. I liked this software because I was able to build a database and after I did my take offs, I could enter them in here and it would do the math automatically.

I think this is a lot like sage, but I love anything that has an Excel theme. I did like everything about this software, I ended up using Sage at a new company, they were very similar and the costs were too. Very Versatile Estimating Software, not so great reporting capability. WinEst Customer support is always superb and helpful. Just about anytime you call or email, you would get an answer right away! The markup function is great. It allows users to easily manage different markups, taxes or escalation.

Reporting is not the best. It would be great if it comes with a set of can reports and allow users to modify from it. Also, it would be great if crews table can be imported and exported. Understanding that there are ties from the trade table with it, but it is a pain to not able to import from a table.

Auto line number would be nice, especially if it would be nice if it lets you renumber in case if we want to insert line in between existing ones. Construction Software. WinEst Software. Visit Website. Product Overview. User Reviews. WinEst is an on-premise database-driven estimating solution that helps estimators in businesses across various industries to manage and integrate project estimates using cost-knowledge management.

Key features include construction takeoff, estimating, audit trails and reporting. Users can set-up project estimates from scratch or with a project-type template that follows corporate standards for general conditions and indirect costs. Understanding the exact price of a Construction system isn't easy as the overall cost of software includes the cost of a license, subscription fees, training, customization, hardware, maintenance, support, and other related services.

It's essential to take into account all of these costs to gain an understanding of the system's "total cost of ownership. What are the typical Construction pricing models? The payment is made either on a per user basis or subscription basis. Ideally, customers are required to pay a recurring monthly fee until a specific period for using the tool.

Subscription pricing model is more common with Software-as-a-Service SaaS apps. Upfront cost for customization and integration is less compared to perpetual license cost because there is not much flexibility with SaaS systems in this area. Recurring cost is greater as customers are required to make monthly payments as a subscription fee.

Additionally customers using premium support services must pay an extra fee. All in all, the total cost of ownership in the both cases is almost the same and may span over a period of years, though you may have to pay a higher perpetual license fee upfront. The total cost may vary from starter to mid range to enterprise level apps in both cases. Perpetual license: - Relevant for WinEst A common pricing model for on-premise applications, perpetual license requires a customer to pay an upfront sum to own the tool or other intellectual property on-premises for a fixed term.

Upfront cost involves the fee for installation, customization, and integration with existing systems, besides perpetual license fee. Recurring cost is low in this pricing model and may include the cost for updates, maintenance, upgrades, and patches. Some vendors do offer premium support services, which come for an extra price. Commercial open source: Not relevant for WinEst The customer can acquire the system free of cost without having to incur any upfront license fee.

You are on your own for providing end-user support, since you are not locked in with a vendor-supplied system solution. How much would it cost to customize WinEst? Ideally customization cost is more complex to calculate compared to licensing cost. Some apps allow you to easily combine data from multiple sources, without any complicated query requirements, while some others can be embedded into different applications to provide enhanced reporting.
